Six things that make a difference
Experience with families, not just cases
Over a decade working specifically in family matters in northern Thailand. We have seen a wide range of situations and know that most do not fit a simple template.
Full discretion from start to finish
Client information stays within our office. We do not discuss cases externally and our documentation practices are careful and controlled.
Fees explained upfront
You will know what a service costs before any work begins. We do not add charges partway through without discussion, and we put it in writing when it helps.
Language that is easy to follow
Legal processes can feel overwhelming when the language is dense. We make it a point to explain things clearly so you can follow what is happening and why.
Children's needs at the centre
In custody work, decisions that serve children well tend to hold up over time. We help parents keep that focus even when emotions run high.
Local presence in Chiang Mai
We are a Chiang Mai office — not a branch of a larger firm elsewhere. Our understanding of the local court processes, community context, and cultural nuances matters.
Professional expertise
Phueanchai has handled family law matters in Chiang Mai since 2012. Our advisers focus on this area exclusively — not as one practice area among many, but as the core of what we do. That focused experience shapes how we approach each new situation.
We are familiar with how local courts handle custody applications, what judges tend to look for in agreement documentation, and where mediation works well versus where more formal steps may be needed. That knowledge reduces uncertainty for clients who are already navigating something difficult.
Clear process
Our approach follows a consistent pattern: an initial consultation to understand the situation, a clear explanation of available options, documentation prepared carefully, and regular updates as things progress. There are no mystery stages or long silences.
We also make time to check in with clients who have questions between steps. Family law matters do not always move on a predictable schedule, and we try to keep you informed rather than leaving you to wonder.
Client care
Most of the situations families bring to us carry emotional weight. We do not rush consultations, and we do not make people feel they need to summarise their situation in five minutes. How you experience the process matters as much to us as the final documentation.
Our office aims to feel calm and unhurried. We have no incentive to extend a matter unnecessarily or to push clients toward services they do not need.
Honest pricing
Our service fees are stated plainly on our solutions page. The prices you see — ฿1,750 for a prenuptial agreement, ฿3,300 for mediation, ฿5,650 for child custody support — reflect what the core service includes. If additional steps are needed, we will explain those before proceeding.
We have found that people feel more comfortable throughout the process when financial matters are settled clearly at the outset. It removes a layer of uncertainty from an already complex situation.
Practical outcomes
We aim for arrangements that are workable in practice — not just legally sound on paper. A custody plan that neither parent can actually follow will cause problems quickly. A prenuptial agreement that one party resents from the start will not serve its purpose well.
We push gently for arrangements that both parties can live with, because those tend to hold up over time and require less revisiting.

What Makes Us Different
Things you will not find everywhere
No-pressure consultation style
Our initial conversations are informational, not sales-focused. You can come and speak with us without any obligation to proceed.
Experience with international family situations
We work with mixed-nationality families regularly and understand how Thai law applies when one or both parties hold foreign nationality.
Mediation before escalation
When families reach us during a difficult period, we look first at whether mediation could help. It often saves time, cost, and emotional strain compared to formal proceedings.
Documentation prepared with care
Agreements we prepare are written to hold up — clear in meaning, accurate in detail, and compliant with Thai civil law. We review every document before it leaves our office.
